Filosofía del mercado

Author own words:

"Each neighborhood keeps in its streets an echo of what was, a whisper of trades that once were routine and today are memory. This mural is a bridge between times, an open window to that market of always, where the exchange was not only of products, but of stories, of shared gestures, of a knowledge that was learned from tradition with the hands and the sense of smell.

The image is simple: a child holds a fish with the same naturalness with which inherited things are held, those that come to us without asking questions, like bread on the table, like the sound of the market at dawn. There is no heroism or drama in her gesture, only the stillness of one who was born among this knowledge and carries it with her without thinking.

In his gaze, there is something more than the simple action of carrying a fish: there is a story of effort, of inherited knowledge, of a cycle that unites past and present. The mural is simple, no detours, it encapsulates the spirit of traditional markets.

This portrait not only evokes the nostalgia of the food markets, but also represents the ephemeral and cyclical nature of gastronomy and urban art itself. It seeks to generate a pause in the frenetic pace of the neighborhood to contemplate, to remember. Just as fresh products arrive, transform and disappear to make way for new ones, the mural will be part of the landscape of Lavapiés only for a time, leaving its mark in the memory of the neighborhood. In a world where immediacy prevails, “Philosophy of the Market” is an ode to authenticity, patience and the value of the ephemeral"
