De Maasmechelse graffitiartiest Nihan Yilmaz maakte deze muurschildering aan jeugdhuis 't Alibi.

De centrale figuur van de dubbele muurschildering is een zakenman die stilaan zijn strakke pak en laptop inruilt voor vrijetijdskledij en een boek. Het eerste deel vind je op de elektriciteitscabine aan de straatkant, het tweede deel op de betonnen schutting aan de linkerzijde van het jeugdhuis.

In het laatste tafereel vind je de voormalige zakenman in een hangmat met het Nationaal Park op de achtergrond. Hij leest 'The subtle art of digital detox', een knipoog naar het bij jongeren populaire boek 'The subtle art of not giving a fuck'. In de achtergrond zie je de natuurgebieden van Maasmechelen, waar iedereen tijdens het soms drukke en steeds meer digitale leven op tijd en stond terug tot rust kan komen.

Maasmechelen based graffiti artist Nihan Yilmaz created this mural at youth centre ‘t Alibi.

The central figure of the double mural is a businessman who gradually trades in his tight suit and laptop for leisure clothes and a book. The first part can be found on the electricity booth on the street side, the second part on the concrete fence on the left side of the youth house.

In the last scene, you can find the former businessman in a hammock with the National Park in the background. He is reading ‘The subtle art of digital detox’, a nod to the book ‘The subtle art of not giving a fuck’ popular with young people. In the background you can see the natural areas of Maasmechelen, where everyone can unwind in time during the sometimes busy and increasingly digital life.
