The artwork was originally created by Brian Barnes MBE and Dale McCrea in the 1980s when Britain was in the clutches of the Cold War.
The restoration work has been done by local artist Morganico with Paul Butler and Linda James, and Brian Barnes has been a regular visitor throughout the restoration work.
Swathed in flags from countries with nuclear weapons, the skeletal figure drops bombs out of his hand, with one hovering just above Brixton, while a dove flies up and becomes the CND symbol (a representation of this recently appeared on the reverse of a Brixton Pound £10 note).
Behind him the double mushroom cloud shows a map of the world in the main cloud and images of screaming faces in the lower cloud.
The bottom right hand corner shows prominent people of the time, including Thatcher, Reagan and Prince Charles, sheltering in a bunker during a nuclear attack on London.
