Mutter Erde

The artists Marcel Baer and Andreas Glauch, who have already drawn attention to themselves by designing facades in the west of the city - for example in Lützner Straße - are responsible for the image idea and implementation. Her trademark: neon colors and figures from pop and subculture that seem familiar at first glance. On closer inspection, however, new picture elements and levels are revealed.

The new mural is 18 meters high and 14 meters wide. 150 liters of paint were used for this. "The message behind 'Mother Earth' is the appreciation of life and the protection of the living space required for it," says Marcel Baer. "Last but not least, we see it as an appreciation of the feminine as a source of life."

The work is part of the “Knot Point” art festival, which is dedicated to contemporary urban art. In 2017, for the first time, it was expanded into a multi-city series of events in Hamburg, Berlin, Vienna, Cologne and Leipzig. Facade painting is a focus.
