Gentrification has left its toll also on Leipzig. Society and gentrification critical mural in a former partly squatted house that is now under redevelopment after the Austrian owner must have sold it. The artwork defines a critical view on current developments in the area where more and more people are being pushed out of their neighborhoods by rising rents. The building exemplifies the case as the investor was involved in a number of legal cases with different communities in the house following him for example switching off their water supply in an effort to empty the building of tenants.
