This wall by Flavio Solo (italy) and Diamond (italy) was made in the summer of 2019. This buidling, called Markt058, used to be owened by Aegon and they had a pretty big mural by Sol Lewitt here. When the building was renovated to make appartments for students inside. It was painted white. This led to a lot of commotion. The new owners decided that there had to be a new mural in the entrance hall. So they asked Writers Block Mural Art Festival if they could help. They wanted something local and international since most of the new inhabitants are foreign students. Solo & Diamond came up with Mata Hari and Escher, two international known local Leeuwarders. They've played a bit with Mata Hair who is Sensual and female and also partly Superhero or villan. Her veil turns into a Superhero mask with a patern that is a reference to Escher. This pattern then contineus into the wall where you can see even more animals which is a reference to the old cattle-market that was always held here. Officially you can't just walk in, but you can always peek through the window, and if you are really curious ask one of the students if you can have a look.
