Mara González

This mural was made as a tribute to María del Pino González González, known as Mara González, "the voice of the Canary Islands", was a Spanish radio announcer who stood out for combining her extensive journalistic career with her fight for the most disadvantaged sectors, especially in her immediate surroundings and attending to the diverse needs of her listeners.

The piece was made with neighbourhood participation to create this tile mosaic mural that pays homage to the journalist Mara González at the request of the neighbours, thus providing an iconic symbol of identity to the neighbourhood of Guanarteme.
