The graffiti was created by Sako Asko and is located in Rizoma (Trikala), at the headquarters of the ETK Association.
"This mural was created in the house that now hosts the association “ETouKou,” but above all it is the family home of the founder of ETK in the village, the house of his grandfather Melios and his grandmother Leno. It is a place charged with strong familial and lived experience, where successive generations of the same family grew up.
Grandmother Leno was a central figure in the family’s collective memory. Her presence, care, and role in shaping everyday life remain vivid through frequent references, stories, and feelings of nostalgia and affection, despite the passing of time.
During his stay in the space, the artist Sako Asko listened to stories, observed conversations, and asked questions related to the history of the house, the village, and its people. He came into contact with local elements of daily life, such as home-cooked food, fruit from the area, wine, and agricultural activity - through visits to the family vineyards and the tobacco fields in the village.
Within this context, a photograph of Grandmother Leno was requested. The artist began to draw her figure, incorporating around it elements inspired by what he had seen, heard, and experienced throughout the day. The resulting mural functions as a visual composition of memory, where personal histories, local characteristics, and collective experiences are brought together into a single image."
