Don't Click The Bait

In 2017, the Italian artist Mister Thoms created an urban art painting titled "Don't Take the Bait." The painting is a vibrant and colorful artwork featuring a huge fish with the fishing hook still stuck in its mouth. The image is accompanied by the message "Don't Take the Bait," which is a critique of consumerism culture and how we are constantly tempted to consume something. The artwork is an example of Mister Thoms' characteristic style, which combines elements of pop culture, graffiti, and street art.

Artwork made during the 2017 edition of ARTURb - United Artists in Residence

ARTURb is a unique project in the Algarve that involves some of the most important names in urban art. This project consists of a period of artistic residency at LAC, followed by an exhibition at the same location and several public art interventions throughout the city of Lagos, guided tours and the launch of a catalogue.

During the period of artistic residency, artists have complete freedom to develop their work inside and outside the collective space of the LAC (former Lagos prison) which is available for any intervention, adaptation or artistic creation
