Peek-A-Boo

“Wood Side Gallery” as part of the Krefeld change of perspective under the artistic direction of Fredda Wouters from Kevelaer in coperation with city marketing Krefeld.

The art in the old concrete tubes is really special and looks even better after years.

Unusual art in an unusual place. Under the title “Wood Art Gallery”, 20 artists from Germany, Italy, Mexico, USA, France, the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine and Great Britain turned nature into a stage for their art objects. Many great street art motifs can be discovered, but also concrete pipes or slab paths become unique art installations on the area around the Krefeld Environment Center. The Wood Art Gallery was created in 2015, but can still be explored on your own today - as long as nature does not take back its “exhibition space”. But be careful: Weatherproof clothing is appropriate, it can get thorny and muddy in between.

Anat Ronen is a self-taught artist who mainly lives out her work in commissioned painting. In her often very profound street art, she lets her feelings and opinions run free and reflects on current conflicts and injustices around the world as well as on social issues and love for animals. Her artistic commitment has made her an independent artist who makes viewers pause for a moment of intelligent reflection and appreciation of the beautiful.

Anat came to the United States in 2007 with her husband Ori and son Orr. Born and raised in Israel, both wanted to start a new life here. Anat initially worked as an administrative clerk in Israel, as before, and then began her artistic career at the end of 2008, which has opened up many new perspectives for her to this day.

“It's the street that I like best. The fast screen, the short-lived exhibition, the free accessibility and affordability for everyone, regardless of origin, age and gender. In the street it's just you, your painting and the passers-by. All of this fits me like a glove, ”says the artist.

Through her street art live performance, she creates a real connection with the audience. Passers-by can watch Anat's vision come to life.

In the past eight years Anat has created more than 500 paintings in the US, Europe and Israel and has participated in numerous street art festivals and exhibitions around the world.
