2024: The artwork had to be removed due to problems with the statics. There is a new mural now, painted in august by Matthias Mross from Bavaria :)

Artur Bordalo, also known as Bordalo II (pronounced Bordalo Segundo), was born in 1987 in Lisbon, Portugal. He is famous for using street garbage to create stunning animals sculptures so as to warn people about pollution and all types of endangered species. His works are considered as « trash art ».
For the artwork (Half-Marder) in Heidelberg, a specially designed frame was required, which can be loaded with 1T.
The creation of the artwork took 5 days.
As part of Bordalo´s participation, Metropolink conducted a workshop with refugees in cooperation with Bordalo.
A former US interdenominational church, the Chapel was used by the US military until the 2000s. Now it is part of the district center.
