KOELEPIETJES

Amsterdam street artist Frankey created this wonderful work of art as a remembrance and homage to the mine history and to the canaries that helped protect mine workers against carbon monoxide.

Not by coincidence this artwork is placed in front of the mine museum of Heerlen.

It consists of two poles where three power lines are stretched between. On these power lines little canaries are placed with mine worker helmets on. Fun fact: the helmets have lights that turn on at night. So be sure to check this one out from dusk till dawn.
