James Cochran werd geboren in Australië, waar hij ook zijn pointillistische graffitistijl ontwikkelde. Tegenwoordig woont hij in London. Hij verwierf faam met het portret van Usain Bolt tijdens de Olympische Spelen in 2012 en in 2016 met het portret van David Bowie in Brixton.

Het werk bevindt zich aan het Van Veldekeplein, één van de gezelligste pleinen en terraszones van Hasselt. Het naastgelegen café Cambrinus is één van de laatste authentieke bruine kroegen van Hasselt.

James Cochran was born in Australia, where he developed his pointillist graffiti style. He now lives in London. He gained fame with his portrait of Usain Bolt during the 2012 Olympic Games and in 2016 with his portrait of David Bowie in Brixton.

The work is located on Van Veldekeplein, one of Hasselt's most pleasant squares and terrace areas. The adjacent café Cambrinus is one of Hasselt's last authentic brown cafés.
