Street Art Festival was blij en vereerd om Lucy Mc Lauchlan te mogen uitnodigen om een 40 meter lange muur aan het nieuwe stadhuis 't Scheep' te beschilderen. Haar monochrome en organische werk past perfect bij de architectuur van het gebouw.

De grootschalige monochrome schilderijen van de in Groot-Brittannië geboren Lucy McLauchlan sieren gebouwen met meerdere verdiepingen in heel Europa, gigantische billboards in China, ramen in Japan, hutten in Gambia, Italiaanse watertorens, Noorse vuurtorens, parkeergarages in Detroit en verlaten metrotunnels in NYC.

Haar werk vertoont een diep respect voor de natuur, omdat ze inspiratie haalt uit haar directe omgeving. Ze laat die toe om te informeren en te sturen in wat een intuïtief en verkennend proces is.

British-born Lucy McLauchlan's large-scale monochrome paintings adorn multi-storey buildings across Europe, giant billboards in China, windows in Japan, shacks in Gambia, Italian water towers, Norwegian lighthouses, parking garages in Detroit and abandoned underground tunnels in NYC.

Her work shows a deep respect for nature as she draws inspiration from her immediate surroundings. She allows these to inform and guide what is an intuitive and exploratory process.
