Das Leben ist eine herrliche Erfindung

The artist collective "Strebt Vorwärts" (Strives Forwards) created a huge mural on the firewall of a detached house in 2011. The Hanoverian artist and Dadaist Kurt Schwitters should be given a monument with the theme of the design: "Leben ist eine herrliche Erfindung" (Life is a wonderful invention). This sentence by Theo van Doesburg, quoted by Kurt Schwitters, gave the Wall its central message. After the completion of a residential building attached to the firewall, the original work has not been visible since 2019.

 Instead a smaller work on the facade of the new building is reminiscent of Kurt Schwitters. Street artist Joy Lohmann also used the original theme for this artwork.
