Tū Tira

Mural for a youth centre. 
The artist Pauly B worked with the rangitahi (youth) to find out what was important to them. They talked about all being in the same waka (boat), so the long waka extends both sides. The flower is from the whau tree - the mountain that this building sits beneath is named Maungawhau after this tree. The sunrise represents new beginnings.
