ABOUT THE PIECE:
Rendered in a bold pop-art and geometric constructivist aesthetic with faceted color blocking in ocean blues, terracotta, warm tan, and cream, the mural incorporates large-scale typography spelling out "FLORA DUFFY" vertically down the facade of the General Post Office building.
Embedded within the letterforms and faceted planes are white silhouettes illustrating the three triathlon disciplines in sequence: swimming across the upper registers, cycling along the midsection, and crossing the finish line with arms raised in victory at the street level, crowned by a radiant Olympic gold medal disc.
