<div>Gulargambone is a tiny town located on the Castlereagh River and just off the Castlereagh Highway midway between Gilgandra and Coonamble in New South Wales.</div><div><br></div><div>In April 2018 ten renowned artists throughout Australia visited Gulargambone to create the wildest of make overs. Twelve buildings, one water tower and two footpaths were chosen for wonderful murals including 3D interactive artworks.</div><div><br></div><div>The Gulargambone Water Tower was painted by Jenny McCracken and she titled her Kingfisher art work “Luck Dip”. The visiting artists included outback icons Peter Browne and John Murray. The ‘old hands’ were joined by urban artists Goodie, James Giddy and Sam Brooks who enjoyed his first foray into the true outback of Australia.</div><div><br></div><div>Gulargambone is only a small town, so walking around it to see the murals is very easy. I also highly recommend the Gulargambone Caravan Park. The owners are fantastic and the park has great roast nights twice a week in their community area at the park.</div>

<div>John Murray is a well know artist in this area and lives and has his own art gallery in Lightning Ridge.<br>In April 2018 ten renowned artists throughout Australia visited Gulargambone to create the wildest of make overs. <div>Pave the way to Gular Festival.<br>This portrait by Claire Foxton is of a local legend, the late Peter ‘Leaky’ Simpson. He was the community bush plumper who once owned the building that it’s painted on. The Building itself has a strong history in Gulargambone. The building was build in the 20’s and was a picture theatre at one time. It eventually housed Peter’s plumbing business for 30 years. He called it ‘Simmo’s Bazaar’.<br>When the community decided to set up a cultural / tourism hotspot for the town, Peter offered the hall for a very small token sum. He loved his town and wanted to see it flourish.<br><br></div>
