Under blodbøgen

Southern Jutland in Denmark where the artist grew up was taken over by the Prussians in 1864. Danish people during this time had to live under Prussian rules. 100 years ago in 1920 southern Jutland was voted back to Denmark, this was an event of reunion and feelings. The copper beech was found inside the garden of the Danes, the tree was a symbol of nationality before the reunion
