Although not in Glasgow, but located on the gable end of a historical spot in nearby Kilmarnock town centre, this mural celebrating our national bard and his deep ties to the area and beyond, is a worthy piece to be added here
Robert Burns was inspired by nature and his surroundings, this mural reflects that with natural, organic shapes and patterns, and colours associated with nature and Kilmarnock. It also pays homage to the book of poetry “Kilmarnock Edition,” published in 1786, which was pivotal in his life, featuring poems like “To a Mouse” and “To a Mountain Daisy” – works that were truly ahead of their time.
