La melancolía del acorde

His artistic style can be broken down in this mural through the following characteristic elements:

1. Saturated color palette and light contrasts

Creto is recognized for his use of extremely vibrant colors that completely transform the gray environment of the city. In this piece, he uses a predominantly cool range of intense blues, turquoises, and purples to create the nocturnal or intimate atmosphere of the scene. The dramatic contrast is generated by the warm yellow tone of the character's head, concentrating the light and the viewer's attention on the focus of thought and music.

2. Geometrization of Forms and Defined Contour Lines

The treatment of the figures does not aim for realism, but rather a synthesis of forms through clean, geometric, and organic lines. The faces, hands, and body of the dog are structured in well-defined chromatic planes, delimited by very marked dark strokes. This technical resource balances the purely illustrative aspect with the rough textures of the support (in this case, the exposed brick of the wall).

3. Fusion of Graphic Elements and Everyday Surrealism

The conceptual background of his works often blends everyday scenes with a visual mysticism. Here, the music is not only heard, but also "seen": the waves emanating from the musical instrument and floating upwards are laden with patterns of dots, spirals, and fluid lines of a psychedelic or aboriginal aesthetic, a recurring hallmark in his portfolio that evokes mental states, the flow of ideas, or the connection with nature.

4. Stylized Anatomy and Expressiveness

The figures in Crete often have very distinctive features: almond-shaped eyes and soft yet powerful lines. In this mural, the dog's downcast gaze and gesture convey a strong sense of companionship, introspection, and melancholy, resulting in a highly graphic and industrial composition.

Este mural, titulado "Los cómplices", fue la obra ganadora del primer premio del Urban Fest 2023 en Getafe. Es un reflejo fiel de la identidad, técnica y estilo de la artista jiennense Marifé Rozalén. 

El estilo de la autora en esta pieza se puede comprender a través de las siguientes claves artísticas:

1. Costumbrismo urbano y cotidianeidad

El enfoque principal de la artista consiste en "congelar instantes cotidianos" y acercar las emociones al público general. En lugar de figuras ideales o abstractas, Rozalén retrata la juventud real y los momentos de pausa en los barrios. La figura de un joven sentado de manera desenfadada con su monopatín simboliza la cultura urbana, la introspección y la sencillez del día a día de las nuevas generaciones. 

2. Figurativismo con técnica de pincelada suelta

A diferencia del grafiti tradicional basado en líneas de espray limpias o esténciles definidos, su estilo se asimila a la pintura de caballete tradicional trasladada a la escala monumental.

Utiliza una técnica rica en texturas donde las pinceladas individuales y los bloques de color son visibles de cerca.

Esto dota a la ropa (el juego de luces en la chaqueta gris), los pliegues de los pantalones y la anatomía de un volumen pictórico muy característico, cercano al impresionismo moderno.

3. Diálogo e integración con el entorno

Una de las máximas del estilo de Rozalén es la integración de la obra con el soporte físico. La artista juega de manera inteligente con la ilusión espacial: el fondo del mural emula la propia textura del muro de ladrillo, mezclando el plano real de la pared con el plano pintado. El uso de un marco perimetral verde genera un efecto de ventana, abriendo un hueco ficticio en el muro donde la figura parece cobrar vida tridimensional hacia el espectador.

4. Paleta cromática contrastada

Su paleta suele emplear tonos tierra, ocres y grises para las texturas de fondo y vestimentas, permitiendo que la piel y pequeños acentos estratégicos de color —como el portón rojo detrás de la cabeza del joven— guíen la mirada del espectador y aporten fuerza y dinamismo a la escena.
