Die Milchfrau und der Alchemist

Hier handelt es sich um ein geschichtsträchtiges Gebäude, das sich über Jahrhundert hinweg in den Händen von Apothekern befand. Im Treppengeländer hat sich ein Besitzer um ca. 1830 mit seinen Initialen in Gold verewigen lassen. Carl Stein. 1863 erwarb der Apotheker Gustav Schröder das Haus. Er war nicht nur Apotheker, sondern auch zuständig für die Qualitätskontrolle von Kuhmilch. Die Illustration des Künstlers nimmt die Geschichte dieses Apothekers auf. Unten eine Bäuerin mit ihrer Kuh. Sie bringt die Milch zur Untersuchung. 
Das Werk birgt neben dem historischen Aspekt auch eine Liebesgeschichte in sich. Eine Liebesgeschichte zwischen der Milchfrau und dem Alchimisten. Sie ist sehr verliebt in ihn aber er ist zu beschäftigt, um die Avancen zu bemerken. Geht es nach dem Künstler Robis, könnte die Geschichte vielleicht noch ein gutes Ende nehmen. Der Apotheker muss nur endlich mal hinhören, wenn der Rabe krächzt: "Sie liebt dich, sie liebt dich!".
