Add Fuel is the visual artist and portuguese illustrator João Machado. Ex-graphic designer, his art consists of reinterpreting and playing with the traditional portuguese tiles. Based on a combination of tessellations that creates balance through symmetrical repetitions and visual illusion techniques like “trompe l’oeil”, his compositions with multiple layers create a poetical rhythm that plays with the perception of the spectator and the possibilities of interpretation.
