This installation serves as the lively gateway to Essen's pedestrian zone. Located directly in front of the Hotel Handelshof and Willy-Brandt-Platz, it draws families and passersby, especially during the summer months. The water shoots directly out of the pavement stones as fountains at irregular intervals. As there is no deep basin, the area is fully walkable when turned off and blends seamlessly into Kettwiger Straße. On hot days, it offers a free way to cool down right in the city center and is heavily used by children for playing.
