The Klokkenplas owes its name to the fact that the bells of the Grote Kerk were stored there in the period following the great city fire of 1862 in Enschede. During the fire, the church on the Oude Markt went up in flames, leaving only the walls standing. To save the bells, they were brought down and stored at the Klokkenplas. This interactive artwork, completed in 2022, is a unique collaboration between artist Louis Reith and interaction designer Jay-Cee Klees. The history of the Klokkenplas is hidden within the artwork, which comes to life via a mobile phone. Scan the QR code in the artwork to learn more.

Interactief kunstwerk (NL)
