This mural is on the wall of the Chihuahuita Recreation Center in the same named neighborhood in El Paso. It is a small neighborhood jammed up against the river (and thus the border) and the railroad. Many of the jobs and history are defined by this relationship as shown in the mural. In recent years, the friction of urban development, border control, and mixed emotions about historically poor but culturally significant communities has done a lot to tear apart this neighborhood. There are other murals here just barely hanging on. Get to the neighborhood and see them soon.
