Hongi

Canadian artist Fluke painted this mural on the Castle Lecture theatre, OTAGO UNIVERSITY CAMPUS. A Hongi is a traditional Maori greeting done by pressing one's nose and forehead at the same time, to another encounter, similar to a formal handshake. During the Hongi, the ha (breath of life) is exchanged.
