Find the Crown Hotel and you will find this work by two local artists. The subject is the Chinese Grandfather of the Grandsons who own the hotel and tells the story of the early settlers who made Dunedin the great city it is today. No reason for the portrait being painted purple as it was just a colour that was in plentiful supply to the artists.
