Enbarr

Painted for EPSO

The powerful horse of Irish mythology could run across the sea as if it were solid ground, never slowing, never sinking. He was a gift from the sea god Manannán mac Lir and served the great warrior Lugh. More than just fast, Enbarr kept his rider safe from harm, carrying him through battles and across impossible distances, untouched by fear or danger.

This artwork brings together two ancient myths from different corners of the world - Enbarr from Irish legend and Pegasus from Greek mythology. One races over the ocean, the other flies through the sky. Both are more than horses; they are symbols of freedom, strength, and the quiet power that carries heroes beyond what others believe is possible.

No matter where we come from our cultures, beliefs, or histories we all tell stories of courage, of journeys, and of rising to meet the unknown. By blending these two mythologies, this piece speaks to the strength found in unlikely places, the beauty of shared stories, and the power of the unsung heroes who move through battle not with glory, but with grace, carrying others toward something greater.
