Description

A commemorative piece for Indigenous activist Pearl "Gambanyi" Gibbs, who was the secretary of the Dubbo branch of the Australian Aborigines' League in 1950. The portraits, painted on an earthy background for Gambanyi was based from a photo, and Denae Nicholls representing the next generation rising in her place. She takes her place in the world of the vision, passion and advocacy of Aboriginal women.
