2020 for Meeting of Styles Dordrecht

The "Int. Meeting of Styles" is a non-profit organization (1997) driven by passionate artists and art lovers. United by their love for graffiti, MOS creates a global platform for the art community to connect, share ideas, works, and skills, while promoting intercultural exchange.

It’s been a minute since the last Dutch Meeting hit the scene. After kicking off in Almere and Amsterdam, then making waves in Eindhoven, it took a while to make its comeback. Despite Covid, the new local crew pulled off a revamp of several walls right by the tracks in Dordrecht. Nestled under the iconic Zwijndrecht Bridge, this gritty spot with its raw urban vibe is the perfect backdrop for some serious street art action.

Erwtje (little pea) is a Dutch artist known for his signature characters, often sneaking around train yards...inspired by his own past in graffiti. Their big, round faces resonate with everyone.

He was in and out of the graffiti scene from 1997 to 2012 and studied graphic design, though he never graduated (honesty counts, right?). After working in a supermarket for too long, he finally became a self-employed artist in 2011.

In 2018, Ertjwe returned to his cartoon roots with a more refined style, focusing on the romanticized world of graffiti. "Graffiti taps into our primal instincts, like hunters, it's a sport that awakens the tactical side in us." His blend of realism with animated characters and backdrops gives his work a distinctive atmosphere and vibe.

The wall is on a restricted area (ProRail)...if you're lucky the gate will be open, to take a closer look :)
