Nina Valkhoff is a Rotterdam-based muralist and painter who's been crushing it in the artscene for over 20 years. Her murals can be spotted across the globe...from Sweden and Italy to Mexico, Argentina, and beyond.
Known for her love of large-scale work, Nina fills walls with vibrant plants and animals, often highlighting endangered species. Her goal is to raise awareness and show the beauty of creatures we don’t always pay attention to, reminding us that our affection for animals shouldn't just be limited to the cute and familiar.
This particular mural, painted in July 2017, was commissioned by Het Vogelnest. It’s a community hub in the Vogelbuurt where neighbors come together to bring dreams to life, whether it’s through cooking, painting, gardening, or just hanging out and getting creative. The "Vogelbuurt" translates to "Bird Neighborhood" in English, a district or neighborhood typically named after various bird species.
