Deventer artist Will-Yoow (Wiljo Damstra-Rouwenhorst) designed and created this 180m² mural behind the Leeuwenbrug bridge in Deventer.

From left to right: it starts with an idea. Wanting to change something or learn about it, curious about the future. From there, you develop your plan and search for answers or solutions that help you. From behind your desk and computer, students invent new things and develop them. It's important to take the "space" to search, imagined in the astronaut and to see beyond the horizon in the larger telescope. But beware, there's always an enemy: time. Perhaps a student will create a "time machine" and develop their first idea into an idea for the future.​

Initiator and former Saxion student Simon Govers passionately and persistently proposed the idea of doing something with this route and wall at a municipal consultation meeting. A motion was submitted, which the city council unanimously adopted. Shortly after, streetartstreets was asked to organize this mural. We asked Wil to create a design that would suit this location. It tells the story of the future, the students, and the city.
