Artwork created for Openartgallerydelft in 2020.

During the renovation of the De Dashof shopping centre, the desire arose to give the shopping centre a colourful entrance. That is why it was decided to provide three 'entrance walls' with nice murals. An animal theme was chosen, in line with the surrounding street names. A kingfisher, a fox and of course a badger were painted on the walls. The designs were made in consultation with local entrepreneurs and residents. The Tanthof Business Association and the Delft Entrepreneurs Fund are financing this project.

"Dopie (‘83) is a well-known artist who has been active in the Dutch street art scene for over twenty years. Inspired by the graffiti on the subway cars in his hometown Amsterdam, he started exploring his artistic talents, painting his Dopie moniker on concrete walls and trains. Wanting to push his boundaries, a few years later he started practicing elaborate characters. This led to the development of his characteristic photorealistic style.
Nowadays, Dopie’s work is a well-balanced mixture of realism and more traditional graffiti. He is especially known for his use of bold colors and his remarkable depiction of a wide variety of animals. Since 2004, Dopie has been able to turn his art into a career. His work (spraypaint, acrylics, 3D artwork) can be found in many places." - ASA
