Description

Shaun Lee, Gwarkabah (Saltwater man) also known by his artist name, Hafleg, is a Larrakia, Wardaman and Karajarri contemporary freelance artist born and raised in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The Salt Water Crocodile (Dungalaba) is the Totem for the Larakia people (the first nations people of the Darwin area) . Shaun chose this as the subject of his painting as a way to connect with his people, creating something that they are proud of, For him its a way to represent his mob.
