In November 2016, it was decided to create a competition to rehabilitate the Paseo del Záncara area through a series of murals that would give a new look to this area next to the Záncara river.
The winner of the contest was the artist Pedro Antonio Ruíz, alias Frescales, who presented his project "Birds" based on one of the murals he had made in his hometown (Las Mesas).
The result was a series of birds that runs along the entire promenade to end up in a large mural that represents a Kingfisher according to the author's curious vision.
