BEYOND – FALCONE AND BORSELLINO HIGH SCHOOL, BRESSANONE 2022

The two men portrayed in this painting are the deepest and most authentic picture of justice for us as Sicilians. I am proud to have painted their portraits on the wall of the northernmost Italian school bearing their name. Falcone has a proud look on a smiling face, Borsellino is gloomier and melancholic, as in a photo taken after May 23. Beyond – oltre in Italian – is not just a title, it is a wish. It stems from the Latin ultra, which means “to venture beyond”.
