Little Lucy

Der Künstler – gebürtig 1978 in Frankfurt am Main - ist seit 2003 in Berlin aktiv. Seine Kunst ist eine Mischung aus Pop Art und Comic. Überwiegend arbeitet er mit Paste Ups und zählt zu den bekanntesten deutschen Streetart-Künstlern. El Bochos bekanntestes Motiv ist Little Lucy. Eine freche Göre, die ihre Katze Kitty immer wieder um die Ecke bringt - mal steckt Lucy das Tier in den Kochtopf, mal lässt sie Kitty als gemeine Rapunzel zappeln, und mal ist die Katze Sandwichbelag. Das alles ist nicht ganz ernst gemeint, denn Katzen haben ja sieben Leben. Aber auch seine großformatigen Portraits von Mädchen finden sich in vielen Großstädten und mit nachdenklich-melancholischen Sprüchen kommentieren seine Figuren die Gefühls- und Lebenswelt junger Stadtbewohner. Früher hat sich El Bocho selbst in der Illegalität bewegt, mit Graffiti-Kunst fing alles an. Heute stellt er in Galerien aus.

A cheeky brat who repeatedly misleads her cat Kitty – sometimes Lucy puts the animal in the cooking pot, sometimes she makes Kitty wriggle like the mean Rapunzel, and sometimes the cat is sandwich filling. None of this is meant entirely seriously, after all, cats have seven lives. But his large-format portraits of girls can also be found in many big cities, and with thoughtful, melancholic sayings his figures comment on the emotions and lives of young city dwellers. El Bocho himself used to move illegally; it all began with graffiti art. Today he exhibits in galleries.
