Student Movement and Cultural Resistance

Description

United We Will Win... with "Fado de Coimbra"

The mural "Student Movement and Cultural Resistance" is an urban artwork in Coimbra and is part of the "Freedom Murals" initiative.

The student movement was fundamental in creating an environment of protest that culminated in the Carnation Revolution in 1974. During the 1960s and 1970s, students in Coimbra were protagonists in several demonstrations and strikes that challenged the authoritarian regime. Adriano Correia de Oliveira, one of the most influential protest singers of the time, was a central figure in this movement, author of songs that became anthems of the student struggle.
