THE TWO PIGS

My painting @cheltenhampaintfestival this summer at "The Two Pigs" pub, downtown Cheltenham. This fluffy, dual wall mural was in no shape and form my original intended design whatsoever, due to a small misunderstanding initially and on arrival realising the left hand wall was so blown to smithereens that there was no hope at even considering doing my original design. I had been warned. How @roo_art got it done last year is beyond me! Plan B had to be complete freestyle due to the situation. There was an urban myth going around that the IRA had previously kept it as stables years before and hadn't been fixed since, hence the state of disrepair. Who knows?
The two fir trees behind the farmhouse on the far hill represent "The Two Pigs" and the rolling hills, the distant Cotswold Downs. There's a small vineyard beyond the horizon, unseen to the naked eye, growing sour grapes. I think that's right, certainly what I felt when I was painting Plan B.
This couldn't have been more polar opposite to what I painted last year, much to the shock of many! I have however defrosted a little since I got back, and will warm to it one day soon.
