Babuino – Theropithecus II

An intervention alluding to the "Baboon - heropithecus" as a tribute to Victoria Cave, carried out near the site on San Ginés Hill. This site functioned as a hyena den and is part of the paleontological heritage, recognized as a site of international geological interest. More than 90 vertebrate species have been identified here, key to reconstructing Early Pleistocene fauna. Furthermore, Victoria Cave is the only site in Europe with a representation of the African baboon Theropithecus oswaldi, which is relevant for understanding the dispersal of our ancestors from Africa to Europe.

Intervención que hace alusión a ‘Babuino - heropithecus’ como tributo a la Cueva Victoria y realizado en las inmediaciones del yacimiento que está situada en el cerro de San Ginés. Esta ubicación funcionó como un cubil de hienas y forma parte del patrimonio paleontológico, reconocido como lugar de interés geológico internacional. Lugar donde se han identificado más de 90 especies de vertebrados claves para la reconstrucción de las faunas del Pleistoceno inferior. Además, La Cueva Victoria es el único yacimiento en Europa con representación del babuino africano Theropithecus oswaldi, lo que es relevante para entender la dispersión de nuestros ancestros desde África a Europa.
