Kabrit

Le maître de la Citadelle

Mural created by the Franco-Lebanese artist Kabrit as part of Graff It XXL, organized by the One-One association in 2024. A huge painting measuring 150m² where we can see a view of the Carcassonne Cité, flowers and a lot of details.

The artwork incorporates a 19th-century Arabic proverb. Written in calligraphy, it refers to the idea that those who possess knowledge can exert powerful control over their own lives. They can thus rise above all materiality while emancipating themselves from the Kantian notion of "minority." This underscores the responsibility that accompanies the mastery of knowledge, an idea illustrated by the hands holding a quill in the shape of an olive branch pointing towards the sky, a symbol of peace.
