Elefante

The work of Mon Lendoiro tells a story that has to do with life, with innocence and with the world of children, but also with hope in the face of adversity. The protagonist is a pink elephant, accompanied by a boy and a girl, the animals that live with them in the jungle, and a dog, the faithful friend. The mural reflects an incredible and original subworld, typical of children, the author said he was inspired by a dream he had during a stay in the hospital. It shows a childish, naïve aesthetic. In this sense, Lendoiro coincides with the Japanese painter Yoshiro Tachibana in affirming that childhood is an underworld, always worth to revisit because adults are boring and lacking of innocence; we grow up and forget the way we used to see the world. This drawing was already chosen in Santiago de Compostela to symbolize the fight against cancer. It was part of Derrubando Muros con Pintura 2016.
