Un niño con una enfermedad poco frecuente (EPOF) abrazando un globo, con la mirada hacia el parque donde otros niños están jugando y riendo. Esa imagen gigante plasmada en un mural por el artista urbano Martín Ron, interpela a reflexionar sobre las realidades que viven las personas con EPOF y sus familias, reconociendo el derecho a la salud de estos pacientes.

La iniciativa forma parte de la campaña de este año de la Federación Argentina de Enfermedades Poco Frecuentes (FADEPOF). El mural tiene de 15 metros de ancho por 11 metros de alto y está ubicado enfrente del Hospital General de Agudos José María Penna, Pedro Chutro 3435, en el barrio de Parque Patricios.

“Martín Ron logró representar con su arte las realidades que poco se conocen de lo que viven a diario las personas con alguna EPOF. La imagen tiene muchos elementos simbólicos, como el catéter representando los cuidados que requieren estas enfermedades, unido al tradicional globo con forma de corazón en un gesto de aferrarse a su derecho a la salud, el juego de reflejos vinculado a la necesidad de dar luz y reconocimiento a estas realidades. La mirada de anhelo del niño hacia el parque queriendo ser parte de las risas y juegos”, interpretó para Infobae Luciana Escati de Peñaloza, directora ejecutiva de FADEPOF.

“La remera rayada del niño personifica las rayas de las cebras. El ejemplo invita a los médicos a sospechar las EPOF y no pensar solo en las enfermedades predominantes; también alude a que, así como la combinación de rayas de cada cebra es única, también lo es cada una de las personas que viven con una enfermedad poco frecuente, y detrás de cada raya y de cada individuo hay una historia de vida que también tiene derecho a la salud”, añadió Roberta Anido de Pena, presidenta de FADEPOF.

“Martín Ron managed to represent with his art the realities that little is known about what people with some EPOF experience on a daily basis. The image has many symbolic elements, such as the catheter representing the care that these diseases require, together with the traditional heart-shaped balloon in a gesture of clinging to their right to health, the game of reflexes linked to the need to give light and recognition of these realities. The child's look of longing towards the park wanting to be part of the laughter and games”, Luciana Escati de Peñaloza, executive director of FADEPOF, interpreted for Infobae.

“The boy's striped T-shirt epitomizes the stripes of zebras. The example invites physicians to suspect EPOF and not think only of the predominant diseases; it also alludes to the fact that, just as each zebra's combination of stripes is unique, so is each person living with a rare disease, and behind each stripe and each individual there is a life story that also has right to health”, added Roberta Anido de Pena, president of FADEPOF.
