Tom Gefken's wall installation preserves the evolved character of the rear façade of the Städtische Galerie building with its random graffiti and chaotic structural interventions. The six white circles set in a line give the building a structural order and at the same time the association of a passing ship with portholes. The building's location on the banks of the Weser is thus echoed in a slightly unpretentious way. The shapes look like spotlights focussing on an event. The reference to the art institutions is made via figurative signs that symbolise the eternal themes of the arts: life and death, emotion and understanding. They are placed on aluminium plates in front of four circles.
