Kelsey Montague started her WhatLiftsYou project 3 years ago. Since then her massive angel wings appear in various cities in North/Central America, Australia and Europe. The work invites people to photograph themselves in front of the wings and share their inspiration through social media with the hashtag WhatLiftsYou.
The original coat of arms of Breda also contains angel wings. The angel watches over the shield with the three Andreas crosses. The crosses have long been the logo of the municipality. On July 7, 2017 a new slogan was launched that will be used to promote Breda in the coming years. Kelsey’s work doesn’t just bring the angel wings back to the city, the objective of the mural also fits the slogan ‘Breda brings it together’.
