Wayfinders is part of BD: Walls, a collection of new street art commissioned by Bradford 2025 for walls across Bradford District – paying vibrant tribute to our heritage while celebrating our dynamic street art culture
The mural’s dynamic composition flows toward the canal path, where moorhens and Canada geese cross the wall, breaking free of the borders to evoke movement and rhythm in the work. Their movement echoes the direction of local landmarks, including the nearby Three and Five Rise Locks.
These birds were chosen not just for their presence in the area, but also for what they represent. Moorhens, often overlooked, are native and remarkably adaptable, embodying resilience and strength in both water and on land. Canada geese symbolise migration, loyalty, and community, reminding us of the power of teamwork and shared journeys. Together, they unite the mural in a celebration of land and sky – a layered reflection on how we ourselves find our way, together and alone.
