Two For Mirth

Description

Australian artist Janne Birkner, who works under the artist name Krimsone, created this mural featuring local fauna and flora in the Bilzen borough of Groot-Spouwen.

You can see two European magpies dancing on a bramble bush at night. The burning lamp is a nod to the “suburban” life we lead: we live in a comfortable house, but still close to or in the middle of nature.

Krimsone created a mural that contrasts sharply with its surroundings thanks to its bright colours and shapes, which was exactly the intention. He wants to encourage us to allow more art, colour and liveliness into our daily lives.

This mural reminds Krimsone – who is often on the road – of the importance of home and family. Because even when we travel, there are things that always stay with us.
