Elephants

The elephants came to East Belfast as part of Hit the East in 2017. 

South African artists Falko was the headline painter at the festival. He is renowned for his elephant paintings. He also makes clever use of architectural features, greenery and local symbols to add humour and life to his work, as well as comment on the locality and situation of each piece.

Falko is one of those artists who works FAST. He painted a lot of elephants when he was in town for a few days. A lot of them are painted over now or damaged but these are the best remaining examples of his work in the city.
