Irony

Irony created this large-scale piece with the assistance of an industrial paint sprayer - his first time using this type of equipment. Leaving the grey structural elements was initially questioned as it was felt these should be minimised. However leaving them in relief gives a sense of depth, allows the artist to enhance the character of the robin, and creates such contrast between the industrial and the natural that it brings the lushness of the Greenway even further to the fore. As usual, the artist was proved correct!

Created as part of a regeneration project funded by Urban Villages, commissioned by Eastside Partnership and managed by Seedhead Arts.
